Dr. Bretty! Since I was diagnosed with diabetes about a year and a half ago I have managed to get my blood sugars down to a reasonable level along with that A1C lower than my doctor even imagined. Also my blood pressure is so well controlled I seldom need to take my Lisinopril. My physician has allowed me to "halve & quarter" the 10 mg tablets primarily the occasional quarter with a "half" maybe once a month when under stress or too many dam salty French fries. Yes I have a pork chop and some bacon every now and then with a big ol' T-bone, however, those are my rewards for drastically changing my eating habits to the point my medications have been cut to the bare minimum. IF I can get the time this evening or tomorrow I intend to share these revelations along with a "better brain diet" which I have followed very closely. No... it hasn't cured that pervasive "Blondness" however, many of my best readers are closing in on that 60ish mark and being a greedy bastard I'd like to keep you around. |

Congratulations Dr Bretty for managing your diabetes and blood pressure so well. I am on blood pressure medication, but only a minimum amount, and I do not have diabetes; rather I have a low blood sugar problem when I am working harder than I should. I nearly collapsed this morning while cutting down a tree. I had to drop the chain saw and slide quickly down the ladder to the safety of the ground. A friend and neighbor went in his house and got me a glass of juice. After drinking it, I was fine for another 1/2 hr. Unfortunately, the chain saw won't start now.

That pork roll sounds good. It's summertime and my "free time" allotted to posting in here can get eaten up in pretty short order. Posting recipes takes coordination with what JD feels like eating, what my schedule for the day is, and recipe blogs are KILLERS when it comes to taking the pictures then writing them up in here.
